"We are flying higher and faster; stability is better at altitude and we are enjoying enhanced first and second segment climb performance. Our GII is just a sweeter flying aircraft with Aviation Partners Blended Winglets."
- Mabry Moody, Manager of Flight Operations, Eclipse Aviation

Imagine the appearance of a new Gulfstream for a fraction of the cost! The Gulfstream II has recently been remodeled using the Aviation Partners Blended Winglet Technology - donning new feathers, better performance and an updated look.

The Performance Enhancement System is a three-fold attack on the age-old aerodynamic problems of airflow separation and the resulting drag. Two types of small devices called "vortex generators" and "vortilons" have been installed on the wing surfaces to control this separation and enhance buffet and stall characteristics. The large wing fences have also been removed.

The most noticeable and effective addition to the airplane is the High Aspect Ratio Blended Winglets. These winglets curve upwards with an unusually large transition radius. The large radius transition from wing to winglet as well as the smooth variation in chord are the keys to the efficiency of this new winglet. As a result, GII drag and therefore fuel consumption have been remarkably reduced, increasing range by 200 miles at long-range cruise for a typical 2,500 mile trip.

Additional benefits of the Performance Enhancement System are increased stability and quicker initial climb to an altitude 1,500 to 2,000 feet higher. This unique point of difference is particularly significant when crossing the Atlantic above the tracks and weather disturbances at 41,000 feet. The GII also benefits from the modern appearance and value retention of its younger siblings with the addition of the Performance Enhancement System.

Cruise Altitude:
Generally, the GII Performance Enhancement System tends to fly at about 1,500 feet higher than the standard GII to achieve optimum cruise performance.

Range:
Due to drag reduction in all flight segments, the nonstop range at .74 Mach to .80 Mach is significantly increased using optimum cruise altitudes.
